I agree with you about a surprising number of things but not this. Maybe a handful, but mostly these people really think they are doing good by controlling women's bodies, they really do value fetuses over women.

So what about the free birth control pills and condoms from family planning? What about the morning after pill? Sending this down to the state level is not the end of the world. Times are different since the time of the ruling. This is not a catastrophe.

Lots of people were fine with "safe, legal and rare" even as they hated abortion. But once "shout your abortion" and "abortion pride" became normalized, lots of those reasonable people became virulently pro-life at all costs.
