Our political system as it now exists is institutionally resistant to the level of fundamental economic reform that would balance the playing field and give the working people of this country an equal opportunity for life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness. We have to fix that.

Not sure why people are so eager to get to the notion of "institutionally resistant" when it's quite obvious many voters in the USA, perhaps most, are entirely, often fanatically, opposed to the idea of "fundamental economic reform," for any reason.

It can鈥檛 be fixed unless there鈥檚 a fundamental change in how Americans care about each other. Right now they really don鈥檛. We are very self centered. Politicians and corporations have played the political scene very well to condition us. Why would they change?

you can start with a UBI- based capitalism. That would be a great leap in the right direction. If humans only are considered worthy as 'working people' then that in and by itself is....a huge problem

Simon says: They are the cowboys. We are the cattle. How do we convince them not to take us to the slaughterhouse when they're getting paid to do that?

Yeah, well, 7 years of opportunities to fix any part of this cluster f...k have gone by with no one who could actually fix anything did so.

The US bombed Vietnam to smitherines to protect capitalism. You can't reform the US empire.

Or destroy it if we can鈥檛! All or nothing, no incremental bs, and if we can鈥檛 save it, we avenge it, like in the movies!

There's no fix within either corrupt party, which means there's only two paths to fix the problem. 1. Violent revolution. Americans would rather put on chairs than do this. 2. General strike. Possible. Need a plan acceptable by ppl across the political spectrum. There isn't one

A lot of progressives think that they can get their neat Lefty policies and candidates without addressing the institutional processes that have been designed to kill their neat Lefty policies and candidates.
