All advanced democracies in the world have universal healthcare except us. Hundreds of thousands of Americans die every year because of inadequate healthcare & for one reason only: the greed of the private insurance industry & the willingness of our political system to play ball.

Maybe the United States is not an advanced democracy. That would explain a lot.

And the willingness of so many people to follow what they already know. We need to change the way we think. We need to think we can change...

Basically the Gen X retirement/ healthcare plan is suicide.

So if we don’t have universal healthcare, are we an advanced democracy?
The most vulnerable people in society are exploited to increase profits for healthcare companies. The 'market' isn't working for ordinary citizens if drug prices are significantly higher than other developed countries. It's only working for the rich - maintaining their wealth.

Ireland doesn’t have universal healthcare either. I was hoping things would be better here but the public healthcare is an absolute joke. It’s the same as america but not six figures medical debt. People still have to take out loans for healthcare.

The aim is good but can we expect the government to not bungle it?

For-profit mecha-medicine is killing us slowly. They have every incentive to establish and maintain chronic conditions in the population.

Why do you want the government in charge our health care? They misuse, go in debt, and generally mess up everything they do!!
