All advanced democracies in the world have universal healthcare except us. Hundreds of thousands of Americans die every year because of inadequate healthcare & for one reason only: the greed of the private insurance industry & the willingness of our political system to play ball.

The problem is the US is already 30 Trillion in debt. There needs to be a radical change to the tax system. I hope you will listen to this interview of Scott Smith" How to build a better economy by @Scaramucci about Scott's book " The Emerging Kingdom " youtube.com/vsuDYeeo9RI

It’s too big though. The for-profit healthcare system. If we replace it with a government healthcare system, it’ll collapse, and since everything in our economy is interconnected, it’ll take everything else down with it. I’m in favor of universal healthcare without profit motive.

MW: Preventable medical errors kill hundreds of thousands of Americans each year. Thousands (not hundreds of thousands) Americans die because of lack of insurance. Moral: You're 10x more likely to die because of a botched medical procedure vs lack of access to medical care.

Bcs the insurance industry buys politicians thru legal qnd illegal bribery. Say the quiet part out loud, Marianne, they are going to try to destroy you no matter. You might as well speak the unvarnished truth.

I'm an american who's been living in Spain for 21 years. I still can't get over it...everytime I go to doctor, get tests done etc, I leave the clinic or the hosptial and pay nothing. It still schocks me!
