Talked with a German cousin last night about how every citizen there gets full healthcare and free education through college or tech school. It’s just their normal. She said “ I don’t understand why people in America say ‘socialism’ like it’s an insult.”

“Our government has been able to scare people with the word socialism-but one of the things that I notice about young people is all the young ones who say, ‘What am I supposed to be scared of in socialism-the free college or the free healthcare?” Marianne Williamson

I can't take any models of current traditional systems seriously anymore. All, essentially, cut from the same cloth. Any system from any country that supported mandating/bullying people into a treatment they didn't want, didn't agree w, is not a model, going forward, for anything

Germany relies on the USA for its defense, so the USA is subsidizing their health care and education, so basically it is capitalism funding their socialism.

Starting a world war is normal for Germany too. Lots of white nationalist types still there. Is this really what you support? 🤦🏻‍♂️

I'm from Canada. My ex, from the US. She'd say it was unfair we had no medical debt and lower educ. debt and Americans have to fend for themselves. I pointed out she was able to work and save to pay her college debt so I was her Canada.

Because "Socialism" in America has a very different connotation than denotation. People think it means whatever they don't like about capitalism, so socialism is all about the big corporations controlling us with government...or it could be corporations taking your Medicare..lol

Because primitive Americans are still "stuck" with their capitalistic desires. In short, America isn't ready yet for a more advanced system. Greed and corruption continue to permeate the American consciousness.
