Today I would say $1T. It was an important moment for me because the debate was in Detroit. I knew what Detroiters had shown me when I lived there, and I knew I would never forgive myself if I didn’t make the argument for reparations on the stage that night.

You can’t spend money you don’t have. It causes inflation. Besides that the people paying the reparations had nothing to do with the slavery.

This moment has kindled hope ever since I witnessed it with my son. -On that stage with clarity and heart... knowing so many others were saying "Amen." We can fix all the broken parts of our civil society - to end systemic injustices and even reverse climate change - together.
