Today I would say $1T. It was an important moment for me because the debate was in Detroit. I knew what Detroiters had shown me when I lived there, and I knew I would never forgive myself if I didn’t make the argument for reparations on the stage that night.

How much money in reparations should a black person get? Which blacks would get reparations, how black would a person need to be to get reparations. Should the people of Africa who sold blacks into slavery also have to pay reparations?

If you want to see a country even more divided, impose the reparations. You’ll make so many whites loathe blacks, that otherwise wouldn’t. And then Asian and Hispanic Americans will be asking for their cut next.
