A wealth tax would never work. Rich people would move money into hard to value assets and out of things like equities. They could challenge the IRS valuations in court. A wealth tax would mostly be great for tax lawyers.

This is why government backed censorship (like the Biden administration has done) through social media platforms, cell phones, medical records, school enrollment information, etc. is so incredibly scary. A “social credit system” is the beginning of the end.

Marianne I just listened to your interview of Harvey Kaye on FDR. It was wonderful. We sooo need an FDR today. I also think that LBJ despite his faults was the closest one to FDR and really the ONLY one.
