Quote from Nixon aide John Ehrlichman about the Drug War: “You want to know what this was really all about? The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? 1/3

“We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. 2/3

“We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.” 3/3

I'll assume for the sake of argument that all the evidence against Pres Nixon is true & sufficient to impeach him. Can a reasonable person, who doesn't refuse to think, justify to me why the law wasn't enforced against the crime of a fresh law school graduate, Hillary Rodham?
1974, the worst political crime in the US of our time against the justice system. The perpetrator was Hillary. Who helped her evade prosecution after she lied to Watergate grand jury? Hillary listened to tapes of Pres Nixon talking about his defense in case he was impeached👇

For politicians, it's always about "the news". That is where 99% of the voters get 100% of their "voter information." In 2016 Trump was estimated to get $5bn in free advertising courtesy of "the news". We can change this by organizing on a voter platform. I'd be happy to demo.

Legalizing drugs (like alcohol) would be tremendously beneficial for most of society for many reasons, but it won’t happen bc it would curtail the flow of money to LE and give the politicians one less thing to claim they are doing something about.

Go to 2 minutes 23 seconds and Lynda Baines Johnson Robb mentions how the Nixon campaign in 1968 told the South Vietnamese Government not to follow LBJ's peace plan. youtube.com/watch?v=6z-y71Nt… Go to 4 minutes 2 seconds - LBJ calls it "TREASON." youtube.com/watch?v=qbEPI_9J…

When I think about the complexity, and the level of inter generational trauma and oppression of opportunity. Well it just breaks my heart. We have to make it right.
