Carter put solar panels on the top of the WH; Reagan’s first act was to take them down. If we’d gone green when Carter first wanted,if we had hi-speed rail &other forms of mass transit the way we should, none of this whoredom for oil & desecration of the planet would be happening

See I agree with this although I think we would still have oil But Carter Didn't push the first Electric car or even Solar Like It should have been If not In actual use He could have had studies done

For energy maybe. Since half of fossil fuel usage is for materials feedstock and the substitutes poor, we would still be mining and drilling. BTW you can make a good case that fossil fuels are too valuable as feedstocks to burn for energy.
