Inflation is causing Americans anywhere between $340-$450/mo more in food costs, casting millions more into hunger & poverty. Biden's willingness to blame all this on Putin and not call to task the unmitigated unregulated greed of American corporations is cynical & disgusting.

Really? I know he said that, but what happened then...? The Build Back Better loss was awful, but there is still a lot that could be done.

What measures exactly do you want him to take? I keep asking Biden bashers what he should do about inflation and so far I haven't gotten a single reply.

There is currently zero consumer protection left in our system. Any effort to go near there gets branded as "socialism." The president has the power to override endless corporate profit-making in the interest of the national good, but he won't.

I love you, have your books. But this isn’t helpful and not totally true, imho. I base this primarily on what I’ve learned from ElizWarren & KatiePorter. Admittedly I’m quite quite ignorant of macro-economics. Biden bashing WAY too dangerous right now. ✌🏻❤️

I hear you. But what's bashing, and what's just giving voice to all the people begging those in the WH to do ANYTHING, anything at all, to actually improve people's lives in a fundamental way before November?

The blame for spiraling inflation lies on all those who supported covid restrictions, which senselessly shuttered the economy. The spineless failure to thwart the invasion of Ukraine is icing on that cake, as is the continued allowance of profiteering.

You aren’t telling the whole story. We also have inflation because of loose monetary policy, reckless fiscal spending, bad energy policy, and supply chain snarls still persisting. During inflation, profits increase as retail prices go up faster than wages and other costs.

The government did this.
