Trump told the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by." Then when he wanted them to come to DC to stop an election, he said so. So they did. I don't see that as a distraction from the other issues. I see it as fundamental to whether or not we'll ever be able to address them.

But they didn't stop an election and nothing happened. It was over in 3 hours. Compared to the summer of violence in which Seattle was taken over for weeks nothing happened.
