No you can’t vote out fascism in an empire where leaders are selected & we don’t have fair elections. Fascism must be defeated by working people coming together against it. It will never be defeated by empowering one of the two wings of the same fascist bird. CC @marwilliamson

Inside/outside strategy. Hitler was democratically elected. If we put our focus either entirely on the inside or entirely on the outside, we fail. Either without the other is an inadequate response to the challenge.

@marwilliamson I used to think that about five or six years ago but now we’re at the point where I realized our electoral system is unfair and therefore we have passed the point of no return where we need outside non-electoral movements to get us out of this.

Nazis never received more than 37% of the vote in any national election. In 1932, Hindenburg handily beat Hitler and remained president of Germany. Hitler came to power in 1933 as chancellor, an appointed position, only after Hindenburg asked him to form a coalition government
