Respect on a basic level yes, respect for their ideas, hell no.

There are people whose ideas I respect sometimes even when I come to a different conclusion based on the same facts. I think it鈥檚 intellectually dangerous when any of us think we have a monopoly on the truth.

Well sure, and me too, but I鈥檇 say that that is certainly dependent upon the idea(s) in question. Some ideas are certainly well outside of reason, without question or further investigation.
