The US pouring billions of dollars of weapons into Ukraine without any monitoring will vastly increase the availability of black market firearms in the region. It's one thing to say you accept the deadly consequences of that. It's another to pretend they don't exist.

Also remember, USSR supplied the North Vietnamese for 20 years, including Migs, AA missiles (ask John McCain) and provided Russian Pilots that fought US forces as well. If Russia doesn't like it, look in the mirror.

Not sure if you want to dive too deep into the factions of the Ukrainians military. You’ll find that arming them is often less moral than arming random civilians.
