It doesn't - the two events are not mutually exclusive. I think it's a good idea to have an armed security guard at schools while we work out a better plan.
Someone's right to own an AR-15 should not, does not, and must not override our right to guarantee safe schools. Period.

Security guards get shot. The idea that a security guard could have kept that young man from entering the school when an entire police force couldn’t is absurd. The security guard was shot in Buffalo as well.

A BP agent took him out by himself - he was a hero. The fear of getting shot is what kept the police at bay. A little more bravery to save the kids would have been great. At the very least, let the parents with a firearm try to save the lives of their children!
Security guards can shoot, not just get shot. What is wrong with you Marianne? If you ran the world, it would go exactly as it has, just letting kids get killed, giving them NO protection, leaving doors WIDE OPEN for killers to enter. Wake up! How can you be so ignorant!

Marianne, these people are nuts. They are totally brainwashed. We need a new generation to take over.

Exactly! Most of the security guards out in front of the stores/schools really don’t have the training to handle an armed gunman wearing body armor…these people watch too many movies. Hollywood makes it look glamorous & the good guy always takes out the bad guy 🤦🏽‍♀️
