We shouldn’t pretend to ourselves that the implosion of American civilization occurring right now is less dangerous than it is, but neither should we acquiesce to the idea that it’s the final scene in the play. It’s up to us how we write the Third Act.

We're 4 years away from the average age of the end of an empire. The death throes of empire are always signaled by massive military adventurism/spending and abandonment of infrastructure. The Yuan is quickly replacing the dollar as the world's reserve currency. It's over.

Not to mention the mass Covid disabling that is happening and living being beyond the means of millions of Americans. Massive storms with $billions in damages, mass displacement, food & water shortages, etc. We chose barbarism by fighting for "friendlier" capitalism.
