We shouldn’t pretend to ourselves that the implosion of American civilization occurring right now is less dangerous than it is, but neither should we acquiesce to the idea that it’s the final scene in the play. It’s up to us how we write the Third Act.

Well if you were writing the book wouldn't the last chapter be that we all leave our friends, family and home and move to a commune?

Tell that to the people living in their cars or on the street. Non-desperate people always express disaster in poetic terms.

Quite to the contrary, I think that's kind of an arrogant attitude towards people living in their cars. It assumes that people down on their financial luck have less of a view of the big picture; in my experience they often have more.

Highly unlikely that the mass unconsciousness seen in our country has a chance to shift at this point, the fall is imminent…the build back is another story if the pain of it teaches the lesson.
