Imagine what our country would look like if we had federal funding of political campaigns - if money wasn’t a factor in politics at all. We’d have a chance at a government “of the people, by the people and for the people.” Money out of politics has got to be the ultimate goal.

You still have to get Republicans out of office. Won't matter about money if their ideology still in positions of power

And that's exactly why American oligarchs spend so much money ensuring that will never happen, the question is, why do hundreds of millions of people allow this to go on?

I agree. Political campaigns should be publicly funded. Private money should be accepted only if distributed by rules of public funding. That means the donor has no say to whom his money will go

No more conflicts of interest. Big corporate donations to political campaigns must cease. Private monies destroyed public trust in elections. Can candidates really blame apathetic voters? It's millions of dollars. That's what really seems to matters. #PublicFundingOnly
