Imagine what our country would look like if we had federal funding of political campaigns - if money wasn’t a factor in politics at all. We’d have a chance at a government “of the people, by the people and for the people.” Money out of politics has got to be the ultimate goal.

Let's talk solutions: Democracy Dollars Something like this would automatically shift the political incentives of a candidate to align with the will of the people.

Electoral politics is not fixable.

Imagine if we treated it more like jury duty instead of a popularity contest? As soon as you Boomers get the f*ck out of the way, Gen-X will start to correct your mistakes.

Yes and term and age limits for every branch.

If you want the change you are looking for, begin with term limits, no speaking fees, no corporate board memberships, no lobbying for former senators and reps. Demand full accountability from the lifelong bureaucrats that Congress has abdicated their responsibilities to.

I really feel like the goal is not achievable by the means you are proposing. Federal funding for campaigns will just result in a giant unending cycle of embezzlement and slush funds with taxpayer money. At least when private people fund campaigns it is their money to waste.

Yes ... It's a shame the founding fathers didn't think of that in the first place!

Perhaps we would have a plurality of media outlook on the issues, and a plurality of political parties!
