So I'm trying to get this straight. The police wouldn't take on this guy but the NRA says we should arm teachers and let them do it? Maybe keep AK-47's in their bottom drawer?

Yes. People already in danger kind of have an extra incentive to engage.

The teacher just keeps a handgun on his or her hip all the time, like in a holster? That's how it works? Or in a locked drawer, in which case there would be no time to retrieve it?

Does having sky marshals on airplanes help deter hijacker’s? I noticed that mass shooters never attack police stations. So just knowing that a school is not gun free could deter mass shooters, if it saves only one life.
How about a side arm in a holster and a scary scarey AR 15 in the coat closet?
It’s best to not entertain these dumb suggestions. He’s right about one thing though; we need to become more politically engaged so these unserious people don’t control policies that affect our lives.

This commercial shows students don't even need to know which teachers are armed and which ones aren't. **Everyone saying the sight of more guns will traumatize kids, take note of this video** youtube.com/watch?v=UEC8t0L2…

The most unhopeful part about this is that those who support ideas like this don’t see this as absolutely ludicrous & completely irrational.Instead they think banning assault rifles & providing universal mental health services is unreasonable and a breach on their civil rights.

Concealed discretely in a holster. This is common sense, Marianne. Gun control, mental health and other discussions are a separate matter. But we have to secure schools.

Locked in a drawer would be so much better than no gun, there may be an unlucky incident where the first shot fired is in your classroom. Otherwise you have time

What's wrong with a holster?

Both could be options. Many shootings take considerable time before being defused so it's not like a locked drawer would be useless.
