That isn't a real stat... There already are background checks. Many people are just stupid and talking about things they don't know (firearm purchasing).

We have to do something, but background checks would also keep non-violent people who have ever visited a therapist for depression from owning a gun, not good. We are not going to get rid of the second amendment, so we need to maybe focus on why we are so sick in this country.
