What kind of society have we created that so many people are more eager to protect the right to own a military style assault weapon than to do everything possible to protect the life of a child? America’s collective gun fetish IS a mental health issue.

It serves wealthy people. Honestly, climate change, gun violence, reproductive rights. If your plan to change things doesn’t hurt the Dow for at least a week, nothing will fundamentally change.

It’s a collective mental health issue, not an individual one. We’re a violent society. We’re a violent culture. Much of it normalized.

A society that lives in fear does that. Afraid of children, afraid of kindness. Afraid of Love. What kind of nation allows an 18 yr. old child into the military to mass murder?

21 and older to own one along with training and psychological exam!

If mental illness is the cause of mass gun violence why is there so much mental illness in the U.S.? Among men? With guns?

It’s a national addiction.

We just need to admit that a significant percentage of the population is so insecure that school shootings are just fine as long as they can pretend they’re Charles Bronson.
