What kind of society have we created that so many people are more eager to protect the right to own a military style assault weapon than to do everything possible to protect the life of a child? America’s collective gun fetish IS a mental health issue.

Anything can be an assault weapon if used to kill people in mass , should we ban cars because people drive then into crowds of people , maybe take them away because drunk drivers kill people . Criminals will always get weapons to do evil things how will you defend yourself?

They aren’t assault weapons, they’re ARMALITE RIFLES. Do some research. Youre saying millions of Americans have mental health issues but fail to mention the EXTREME mental health issues of the ones committing mass shootings, who do not fall into that “gun fetish” category.
