Governor Greg Abbott of Texas was asked whether an 18 year old should be able to buy an assault weapon. He said that that has been the case for 60 years and he doesn’t see what’s happened that things should be any different now.

No man less than 25 yo should own any kind of gun. Let alone an assault weapon. Statistics r clear on that.

Problem 1- define assault weapon. Problem 2 - we have defined 18 as being a legal adult. Problem 3 - 18-year-olds can join the military and are handed fully-automatic rifles.
