“Spare me the bullshit about mental illness. We don’t have any more mental illness than any other country in the world. We’re not an outlier on mental illness … We’re an outlier when it comes to access to firearms." - Senator Chris Murphy

Not so sure we're not an outlier on mental illness... Drug addiction, morbidly obese, prescription pills, socially acceptable coping mechanisms like alcohol, work, exercise. Ocd, adhd, depression. People are hurting and we're failing one another. We have a spiritual crisis.

The truth is really annoying to you liberals, isn’t it?

After the spectacular compliance testing and loss of personal liberties through destructive liberal Democrat policies… The last thing this country needs is for its citizens to lose access to firearms to stand against such tyranny in government.

You're also an outlier when it comes to campaign financing. Don't these senators not see that the main problem is unlimited money in politics?

Always the drama after an incident like this, then it all dies down…

People with mental illness are far more likely to be attacked than be the attackers. That being said, we really should invest in people's mental wellness.

We don’t have healthcare, not to mention mental healthcare. Our educational system is dismal. Our jobs don’t pay living wages. Housing is unaffordable. Kids go hungry. This produces lots of stress in households. Add to that the availability of guns . .

Shameful quote. The US does have a lot more untreated mental illness than the rest of the developed world because we don't guarantee everyone healthcare including free mental health treatment as a human right. We also are, of course, an outlier when it comes to firearm access.

Well, we do have a culture where violence is deeply imbedded. Cutting off easy access to firearms is essential but not sufficient.
