GOP represents a nosedive for our democracy and the Democrats a managed decline. The difference is that there are those within the Democratic Party, and could still be more, who would interrupt the status quo if given the chance turn a radical decline into a regenerative incline

Looking at the Federal (General) election in Australia yesterday, it just showed how much the US Democracy and elections have deteriorated. Also notable that almost 10 times jump in number of votes for the Greens from the last election.

I automatically distrust anyone who uses the phrase "our democracy." Exactly whose democracy are they referring to? Usually it simply refers to whatever policies benefit them personally or their particular political agenda.

Nonsense. They have the white house and both houses of Congress. Yet they are doing nothing but expanding government and spending. As a result we have growing inflation, debt, a sinking economy. Both wings of the Oligarchy has moved towards Authoritarian end of the spectrum.

We obviously need to define democracy, because classically defined democracy is antithetical to our two party system and the way it operates. The only real hope for democracy is the emergence of parties that aren't criminal syndicates similar to the Dems and GOP.
