If not for wealthy the government would starve to death. Government makes the rules then punishes those that follow them. It makes sense though because how else would politicians remain as the 1%. Rich contribute more to Democrats than Republicans and the system favors the rich.

How to justify taxing some more than others? If they are ill gotten gains than we should want no part of it. The government shouldn’t be funded by corruption, otherwise we are all complicit.
