She advocated for organic (non-gmo) farming in Sri Lanka. The country is now bankrupt. Granted, it was not just that one sector that crashed the economy. However, it is certainly a case study that non-GMO may not be sustainable.

So why not a shift to local governing as well? Does a massive, bloated nationalism make us safer or more economically secure? Does it use our taxes wisely, or does it prop up corporate thieves and endless wars? Do we trust our neighbors to govern themselves?
