They’ve convinced you that for the government to use its power to temporarily override the basic tenets of capitalism even in an emergency is dictatorship. “Sure, let people die; it’s okay as long as the free market continues to reign.” The real dictator there is corporate power.

Marianne this is so unserious. Then what would stop a Republican from declaring a public health crisis on behalf of the “unborn” and ban all abortion everywhere. Or all trans affirming healthcare. This isn’t how we should govern.

If Biden did any of these things the courts would stop them immediately. And a majority of the country opposes M4A so we wouldn’t even get some political benefit from the (lost) fight. It would end with Rs more likely to win in 2024 and no policy changes.
