An essential ingredient of nonviolent political philosophy is the “alignment of means and end”; the idea that the end is inherent in the means, therefore the struggle is to achieve within ourselves the conditions of peace & ethics we wish to see prevail in the world. #Nonviolence

The more I read history the more I realize how little is actually new. Our political struggles today involve the same forces, even the same language, as in the 1930s etc. The present is often so arrogant towards the past when in fact there is usually so much to learn from it.

You know I'm very fond of you, Marianne and I do respect your desire to make a difference in the world. I wish you would pick an approach and stick to it. And I wish that approach was more spiritual than activist.

Sometimes I reflect back on the message I heard you give during your 2017 live stream talk. You told us not to be surprised by the election of DJT and the need for the suffering of ordinary people to be heard, including ordinary Republican people...

...Even in your book Healing the Soul of America you said that there were high-minded ideals in both parties. I remember the strife within myself calming when you talked that way. You didn't run away from the danger in American politics back then. But you didn't deepen in it.

I can't make you go back to who you were months of Trumps presidency because we are not there anymore. But when you spoke like that, one of your deep understanding of ACIM, and not your desire to promote leftist politics, you really helped me. I miss that.

MLK had power because he was recognized as powerful in his church. As a preacher. What happened to your church? Where is it grounded? Who are in your congregation And what is your actual belief system, about the universe, about the power of God and the Limitless power of faith?

If you go back to the place that built your career and gave your voice power in the self-healing movement, you will have power in the political realm as well. But to do that, I think you will need to manifest ACIM as transparently/consistently as you live & speak leftism.

Means and ends are inseperable: the one will always affect the other. Many a high ideal has lost its way and ended in tyranny, repression and destruction because people believed "the ends justifies the means."
