If the rich saw how the poor live in America, there would be more compassion. If the poor saw how the rich live in America, there would be more rage.

they use their money to shield themselves from having to see how the poor live. they don't want to be inconvenienced by seeing and having to act like they care.

I think rich people do see how poor people live, and think the answer is "market discipline" or charity. Definitely not unions, or welfare. So I'm not sure about that first part. I'd like to believe the second part, but I'm not sure about that either.

The rich are well aware of how the poor live, even if they'be never experienced it. They're also aware that their lifestyles & continued wealth monopolization require it.

The rich know how the poor live. They don't give a damn. And the entertainment media rub our faces in how the rich live 24/7/365.

All the poor do is watch shows about rich people, read celebrity news and follow their social media accounts. They're not mad at them, they idolize them. And empathy in the rich is a hilariously neoliberal idea. If they just SAW the problem they'd amend their ways lmao

Anyone who believes the first half of that is not to be taken seriously.

Once they’ve dehumanized the poor, it takes more than a glimpse to get to compassion
