I've noticed in my life that when I've felt hopeless and like I couldn't go on, the people who've said "Oh get over yourself and toughen up!" have actually done more for me than those who however well intentioned probably let me stay on the phone too long describing my despair.
No, there are plenty of people who hate themselves and will think that tweet SHOULD be for them and beat themselves over the head because they don't feel *your* way. With power comes responsibility.

To you it does. To some people it's the reminder they need, in the same way that it has helped me at times to be reminded not to wallow. We all need to just be listened to at certain times, and at other times to be supported in standing tall. Life is all of that.
