I've noticed in my life that when I've felt hopeless and like I couldn't go on, the people who've said "Oh get over yourself and toughen up!" have actually done more for me than those who however well intentioned probably let me stay on the phone too long describing my despair.

Because the only solution to despair is to move on not to talk about it. We just as humans truly talk a lot. Just well over what we need to. And, do so little for our brain capacity and that’s the true despair.

Not me. I need to feel the pain to heal the pain. I go in with faith that it will end, and that feeling it with faith will heal it. "Toughen up" people are often repressed and in denial and their anger explodes elsewhere.

Hmmm. That sounds like something for you to really reflect upon. Can you hear how you have normalized invalidation and emotional neglect?

You’re probably right but I just couldn’t tell anyone to get over yourself. I would feel sick. I love almost everything you post Marianne. You have a balanced mix of smart, tough and heart.

While true for some, your tweet is also gaslighting others who should get professional help. That crowd already has issues with themselves and reality and don't need further gaslighting. If that is you: get professional help, tweets won't fix your issues
