Abortion rights could have been codified into law. This did not have to happen.
The Supreme Court has voted to strike down Roe v. Wade, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito and obtained by POLITICO. “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Alito writes. politico.com/news/2022/05/02…

Yes, they could have been and still could be at the federal or state level. This is a matter of legislation, subject to the voters, not an inalienable right guaranteed by the constitution.

This is what happens when cults run around screaming "vote <color> no matter who" and regret their shitty choices. Don't bet on legislation happening this year; it'll interfere with the Congressional vacation schedule.

Exactly. If Democrats don't want to lose this year, they will IMMEDIATELY make this SETTLED LAW. No nonsense. Get it done or the whole country will finally understand just how feckless this party has become.

You’re right it didn’t have to happen- tell that to your buddies. 2016 didn’t have to happen if folks knew how to lose gracefully. #Consequences #RoeVWade #ChaosAgents
Nina Turner is again running against Shontel Brown in #OH11. Here she is in 2016 encouraging Pennsylvania voters to vote for third party candidate Jill Stein. Her plan worked and Trump won Pennsylvania. After he won the state, the race was over and he became our next president.

I hate to point this out but it’s sad that we have turned into a place where in order for anyone who doesn’t agree with another persons choice it has to be a law. I don’t agree with a lot of things other people do to their bodies but it’s their CHOICE, right🤔🤨? #wtfhavewebcome

It still can happen now. It NEEDS to happen now! Congress could pass a law those week that guarantees right to an abortion.

So if the Supreme Court says something is unconstitutional, how does passing a law make it constitutional?
