Abortion rights could have been codified into law. This did not have to happen.
The Supreme Court has voted to strike down Roe v. Wade, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito and obtained by POLITICO. “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Alito writes. politico.com/news/2022/05/02…

Question: if it was codified into law, could they still come back and say is unconstitutional? If they could they would. We are doomed regardless.
But then the dems couldn't use the threat of it to fundraise 😒
We'd need a left wing party for that

Counterpoint.
There’s no way to codify roe, expanding the Supreme Court just means it expand every 4-8 years, it is now a state issue and if you want abortion to be legal in your state you have to vote for the CRINGE LIBS

But doing so would eliminate the "Vote for us or lose your rights!" card the Dems love to pull. Can't ACTUALLY change anything if it means losing a useful political ploy.

People could have voted for Clinton and it wouldn’t have.

the corporate left doesn't actually care about Roe v Wade or any other policy that doesn't help their corporate donors
