I have a sneaking suspicion that someone coming around to endorse a candidate twelve hours before the election has done so because she got wind of the fact that said candidate just might win.

I hope and pray with everything I have that you are right!!!

The opposite is also true. People also endorse late, or do a rally, or send fundraising emails, or record a robocall, to give a boost when a candidate is in danger of losing.

or...and hear me out...someone doing so 12 hours before the election as a major news story has a far greater potential to remind and impact people voting in that election 12 hours from the announcement so its fresh in peoples minds instead of a endorsement a month ago
