How did a so-called Christian nation transition so seamlessly from “help the poor” to “help the rich?”

That's your American Exceptionalism speaking. It was NEVER for the poor. Exclusively for the rich. Until you recognize you've been propagandized since birth, you'll continue to feel confused...

This was well laid out by Canadian Scholar Shadia Drury's "LeoStrauss&the American Right" >20yrs ago. Leo believed the masses shuld b controld using religion. The rich use taxfreefoundations to seed $ to religious entrepreneurs w/ quid pro quo they yank their flox to the right

The Bible clearly says NO interest is acceptable (Ezekiel 18:13 & a comically large number of other places) and ALL debt will be forgiven every 7 years (Deuteronomy 15:1-4) But you wouldn't know that listening to Christians ignore the parts that don't enrich them personally.

Prosperity gospel has always been an excuse for greed and flawed policies.

Because the ‘help the poor’ narrative was always theatre. Backstage it has always been protect the rich.
