It’s an“us vs them” mentality where people rationalize their fortune through the lens of “it is what it is” by the “Will of God” while they conveniently forget Psalm 82 v 4. “Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Who cares? What are you going to do about it, with your prominence?

Same way every other civilization in history did—because it was easier to just let the rich take charge, and by the time the mistake was realized, the damage was so deep collapse was inevitable.
