Do we know how much of it was defensive equipment (i.e. vests) or something one would find in any police department from a major city or Mayberry? As a child of the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ♻️ generation, I see both sides of this I guess.

I'd rather just have the actual military in a large city. At least they have proper training & unlimited funding to build community infastructure - schools, grocery/commissary stores etc. like you'd find on a military base. Urban/city military bases should be a thing.
