“It’s not up to you what you learn, but only whether you learn through joy or through pain.” - A Course in Miracles. Think of that in terms of stopping new fossil fuel extraction etc. We can choose wisdom now, or tarry in our foolishness causing more pain until we wise up.

Unless we are smart about transitioning to renewables we will become like the Germans begging our Russian masters for fossil fuels while they murder our civilian Ally’s. Is that what you want Marianne? Smarten up please! Common sense please!

Yet you continue to believe a party owned by fossil fuel companies will somehow fix this problem.

Even switching to a totally green energy model there will still need to be the need for oil and gas extraction. Petroleum is needed to make durable plastics and heating oil. Natural gas is needed for heating processes in manufacturing of chemicals and other materials.

We need to: 1) develop new technologies to replace fossil fuels 2) gradually and systematically transfer to those new techs so as not to create hardship Even if we're late in starting this transition, the priority should still be to not let people freeze in the winter.
