America has not seen gainful employment for over 25 years. If we can’t save 25% of wages and fend off with the rest left, we are slaves of the system. The American capitalism. Yes, it’s time employers raise wages dramatically. Or the cost of life needs to come down dramatically.

Good data there, Marianne!. Employers should know that it's in their self interest to pay a livable wage -- else employees will spend their energy thinking about their misery instead of worrying about the job.

I watched a woman at Subway, ordering sandwiches for fellow employees, She had cash from each and paid separately, so each would get back the right change. It struck me that they all needed that change. I thought to myself, Wow. It was sobering.
