The idea that I suffered therefore you should suffer too, when the truth of the matter is that neither of you should have ever had to suffer since financial institutions were just making billions of dollars off your suffering, is a feeling I don’t understand. #CancelStudentDebt

I did not suffer when i paid off my student debt because i had plans on how to pay it off before i got my loan.

The government backed student loans, guaranteeing payment. Guaranteed student loans increased demand for them (most people are guaranteed to get the massive loans based on nothing, and the banks are guaranteed the money). But NO ONE forced those loans on anyone. The debt stays.

Why stop at student loans? Cancel all debt? No more mortgages, no more car payments, no more boat payment, no more credit care payments! It’s ludicrous to pick this particular thing. It’s actually helping the most well off in our society. I have student loan debt, but come on

It’s taking responsibility for your finances. Sucked, but I have a degree and I’ve paid for it.
