The idea that I suffered therefore you should suffer too, when the truth of the matter is that neither of you should have ever had to suffer since financial institutions were just making billions of dollars off your suffering, is a feeling I don’t understand. #CancelStudentDebt

No one forced anyone to take a loan. It’s called accountability. Part of being an adult. Purpose of the student loan is to INVEST in yourself, so you can increase the chance of a successful career. Not to waste 4 years (and my tax dollars) to get drunk at frat parties.

"I pay my bills and you should pay yours too". Lets not equate being responsible with suffering. It'll cause people to shirk responsibility

Don’t cancel all debt. Cancel interest rates after debt has been paid in full. Be logical and rational. Anyone that takes out a loan has agreed to pay the loan.

It's weird how the right is suddenly loudly pearl clutching over it, though. They're sort of attacking an empty strawman. Biden and Dems were never going to cancel student debt anyway

This is insane. It’s an exchange of commerce. An institution literally gives a teenager a hundred thousand dollars with no collateral and gives them 20yrs to pay it back. What part of that is evil or suffering?

I think adults that make adult decisions about spending money on education should bear some responsibility for the consequences. I used the GI Bill and went to community college for 2 years because I considered the financial implications of my decisions.
