The idea that I suffered therefore you should suffer too, when the truth of the matter is that neither of you should have ever had to suffer since financial institutions were just making billions of dollars off your suffering, is a feeling I don’t understand. #CancelStudentDebt

The idea that you entered into a contract of your own free will and think someone else should pay your expenses is a feeling I don’t understand. #PayYourOwnBills

I have three degrees, college, JD, and LLM. I did this long ago. I don’t think I could afford it today. I paid for it all with no debt. And I have no problem if student debt is cancelled. It’s much harder today.

This is so misguided. I suffered, knowingly, and paid my college tuition as I took courses. I don’t now want to suffer again by paying for yours too. Get it?

And your perspective is one that a lot of people don't understand. What if a donation fund were established for paying off student loans. Then those who choose to help out could. How well would that go over? I'd probably donate.

"NO" and not sorry. I worked my ass off to repay my debts. How is that fair???

Wish I'd never paid mine off now

People who want their student debt canceled should post their request on a website so that people like Marianne can write a check to cancel their debt. The only true gift is a personal one.

I'm sure that thousands of freed slaves were incredibly upset with Lincoln.

Why don’t we talk about other debt, like credit cards and mortgages? What’s the qualitative difference that makes one cancel-worthy and not the others?
