The idea that I suffered therefore you should suffer too, when the truth of the matter is that neither of you should have ever had to suffer since financial institutions were just making billions of dollars off your suffering, is a feeling I don’t understand. #CancelStudentDebt

The focus is not on "suffering." It is on responsibility. The idea that you should be allowed to avoid the consequences for your choices while I must pay the consequences for both my choices AND yours, is a concept I understand but abhor. #PayYourDebts

The debt isn't really cancelled, it's just transferred to others to pay - who didn't get the benefit of the loan. Why play these games?
