3/ So the system says: a generation that took on the US war machine & ended a war in Southeast Asia was "mistaken," but students getting out of college straddled with debt, riddled with anxiety & desperately scrambling for the best consultant gig are a sign of societal progress.

I'm not invalidating the anti-war movement. It opposed the war, it was integral for putting pressure on the politicians. But it didn't force the troops to leave.

The fall of Saigon didn't happen because the soldiers and generals went "I guess the anti-war movement said we had to leave so let's leave"
