1/ When I was at Columbia University last week, I said I remembered when student protests occupied Low Library in the 1960's. One of the young women told me that the university doesn't like to tell today's student too much about "their mistakes of the past."

2/ I was like, Wait, what? To me the occupation of Low Library was like an eternal badge of honor, spurring other protests and becoming a symbol for student opposition to the Viet Nam War. WITHOUT WHICH THE WAR WOULD NOT HAVE ENDED.

3/ So the system says: a generation that took on the US war machine & ended a war in Southeast Asia was "mistaken," but students getting out of college straddled with debt, riddled with anxiety & desperately scrambling for the best consultant gig are a sign of societal progress.

what the system actually said is you must take this big pharma injection 3 times or you’re not even allowed on campus. that’s how compliance is enforced. erase history, pile on massive debt, force inject. these things are related, marianne.
