That's the problem with your thinking. We are not children of the government and we are not a family. The only useful function of government is to protect people from other people and the government itself.

Agreed. Though in a weird incestuous kind of way, the children birthed the adults tasked with overseeing their well-being. A problem is those mainly Boomer + Silent adults think of 99% of us as children. The kind of children who should be quiet, grateful, obedient, punishable.
