Joy Ann Reid asked Elizabeth Warren whether there wasn’t a “moral hazard” involved in cancelling the student debt. But the moral hazard was making the attainment of a higher education such a weight on the back of people simply trying to better themselves to begin with.

What sort of lesson in life is it for a young person to have their very first meaningful debt paid off for them by others , debt comes with Responsibility. No one takes on debt not knowing about it before it happens

You can make the same excuse about mortgages. No one forced anyone to take out a mortgage, & no one forced anyone to get a student loan. The immorality is the cry to let people off the hook for incurring debt. That ain't how it works, and you need to stop getting people's hops up

I agree but why doesn’t anyone ever suggest lowering the cost of tuition? The problem is the University’s charging so damn much. Same with healthcare. Why do we accept such exorbitant prices?

Then fire 80% of university administrators and cut the cost of tuitions. Why should plumbers be taxed to pay the debt of women's studies phds?

If a product is too expensive, don’t buy it. There has been and are low cost options for college degrees. Expecting others to foot the bill after you’ve graduated and now don’t want to pay what you agreed to is some kind of hubris.

I think you’re confused about the meaning of the phrase moral hazard.

Those people chose to go get the education knowing full well what it would cost them before starting. Getting an out now will only teach them bad morals.

You cannot just cancel the debt of student loans without giving the rest of the population something significant.

When the government tries to fix a problem caused by the government, results may vary.

The "Moral Hazard" is placing the burden of Student Debt on generation after generation! ... This needs to stop!
